The short version: your worship is not our data. Itminan is built local-first — your prayer log, make-up (Qada) ledger, habits, dhikr and Sisters Mode records live on your device. We run no ads, use no tracking SDKs, never collect an advertising identifier, and never sell or share your data. Anything that leaves your device is optional and opt-in, and this page lists all of it.
By default (the app's "Local-only mode", which is on until you change it), everything you do in Itminan stays on your iPhone and, if you use one, your Apple Watch:
In Local-only mode the app performs no analytics collection at all and creates no account. You can export all of this data as a file (Settings → Data & privacy → Export) or erase it permanently with one tap (Delete everything).
Prayer times and the Qibla direction are calculated on your device. If you grant location access ("While Using"), your coordinates are used locally for those calculations and are never transmitted to us or anyone else. You can instead type a city manually and never grant location access — every feature still works.
The Prayer Shield feature uses Apple's Screen Time technology (Family Controls). By Apple's design, the list of apps you choose to block is an opaque token that even Itminan cannot read — we never know which apps you selected, and nothing about your app usage is collected or transmitted. Blocking is entirely self-directed and can be disabled instantly at any time (Blocker → Emergency disable).
If you switch off Local-only mode, the app enables a small set of Firebase (Google) services:

Records of exempt days are stored on your device, are never included in analytics under any circumstances, and are excluded from cloud sync unless you explicitly enable "Include in cloud sync" in Sisters Mode settings. You can additionally protect the app with Face ID.
If you enable cloud sync, your prayer log, settings, Qada ledger and habits are mirrored to your private space in Google Firebase (Firestore), readable only by your account — enforced by server security rules. Sign-in is anonymous by default; you may link Sign in with Apple to recover your data on a new device. Deleting your data in-app deletes the cloud copy too.
If you join an accountability circle, the only data shared with circle members is an anonymous alias (e.g. "Muslim #412") and your current streak number. No prayer details, no names, no identifiers. Leave a circle at any time to remove your entry.
Prayer reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Push notifications are used only for optional community announcements you explicitly opt into (off by default).
Subscriptions, the lifetime unlock and tips are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details. Purchase state is verified through Apple's StoreKit.
Itminan is rated 4+ and requires no account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; in Local-only mode we collect nothing from anyone.
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/EEA under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have additional statutory rights to access, correct, delete or port your data. Because Itminan keeps data on your device, you can exercise all of these directly in the app; for anything else, contact us below.
